Operations management is a process of transforming raw material into
finished goods but is not only limited to production, it is also
committed to every step involved in producing and delivering a
product or service to final buyer. In majors of operations
management, students are being taught on topics like plant
management, equipment facilities, maintenance and repairing, labor
force strategic manufacturing policy, system analysis, quality check
and assurance, production and control.
The aim of operations management is to make sure that daily activities
are running up to mark and will meet customer expectations. It adds
value added activities in process to exceed customer expectations. It is
quite essential to adopt new methods and procedure of work and remain
updated with the modern technology in order to succeed. Operations
manager is responsible for organizing and managing functions like
purchasing, capacity planning, scheduling, quality check and control.
